The original Porsche 911 design was introduced in autumn 1963 and built until 1989. It was notable for being rear engined and air-cooled. From its inception the 911 was modified for racing, rallying and other competition. The original 911 series is often cited as the most successful competition car ever.

Given its long production life and the passion of its builder, it’s not surprising the 911 had a huge number of improvements and many model designations: O, A and B series (1964–1969), C and D series (1969–1971), E and F series (1971–1973), Carrera RS (1973 and 1974), G, H, I and J series (1973–1976), Carrera G and H series (1974-1975), Turbo aka Type 930 (1974–1989), SC/L, M, A, B, C and D series (1977–1983) and finally the Carrera/E, F, G, H, I, J and K series (1983–1989).

Throughout its distinguished history the original 911 increased in power and prowess, but never forgot its mission to deliver the thrill of driving to the fortunate few that were lucky enough to own one.

Schuco is a legendary German toy manufacturer, founded in 1912. The company achieved worldwide fame with its toy cars manufactured in the ‘30s, ‘40s and ‘50s, many of which were patented.
